“Community Engagement with Compassion”
at Insight Santa Cruz
Address: 740 Front Street, Suite 240 Santa Cruz, CA 95060
July 30 – Daylong Workshop:
Time: 11:00am – 5:00pm
Class Description: We face a world in crisis. We want to respond, but we also want to look away. How can we engage in our communities and confront the urgent needs of these times without feeling overwhelmed, ineffectual and helpless?
This is a daylong for people who want to make a difference in their community with kindness and compassion as their allies. We will work with a set of practices and tools to help us engender an understanding of our innate capacity to be with and take action in today’s complex and stressed world. The day will include periods of group interaction, inner reflection, guided meditation and silence.
Robert Cusick and Kerry Nelson will co-facilitate this class. Robert, a Certified Stanford CCT (Compassion Cultivation Training) Instructor, teaches compassion trainings at Stanford University and throughout the Bay Area.
ALL ARE WELCOME. REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS EVENT.
